Untangle Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Our Commitment
Untangle is a tactile rope puzzle designed around one simple idea: everything lives on your device. We don't run a server, we don't ask for an account, and we don't track you. The game works fully offline — airplane mode included — because it never needed the network in the first place.
1. Information Collection
Untangle does not collect any personal information.
There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking of any kind. Your level progress, Daily Challenge results, Zen mode statistics, editor creations, and settings are all stored locally on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Daily Challenge (No Network Needed)
The Daily Challenge is generated deterministically on your device from today's date — the same puzzle appears for everyone worldwide, but nothing is downloaded and nothing is uploaded. Your results stay on your device.
3. Purchases
Untangle is a one-time purchase ($1.99) handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, and there are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads inside the app.
4. Network Access
Untangle makes zero network requests. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store — the purchase happens there and is handled entirely by Apple — but once installed, Untangle never connects to the internet. No requests, no telemetry, no "phone home". Ever.
5. Children's Privacy
Untangle is rated 4+ and is safe for the whole family. There is no chat, no user-generated content sharing, no account creation, and no data collection — by design, nothing to protect against.
6. Data Security
All data lives on your device, protected by iOS's built-in security and your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Because we hold no server-side copy of anything, there is nothing on our side to access or compromise.
7. Your Rights
Since no personal data ever leaves your device, there is nothing to export, correct, or delete on our end. Deleting the app removes every trace of your play history — that's the entire dataset.
8. Changes & Contact
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future update adds optional cloud features), we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
