Untangle the knots.
Reveal the pattern.
Ropes with real physics are twisted into a hopeless-looking tangle. Drag the ends, feel them slide and slack, and pull every crossing apart — until zero crossings remain and the hidden shape snaps into view.

How it plays
Three moves. One rule.
Every level starts as a tangle of ropes simulated with real rope physics — they sag, stretch, and slide against each other. You never cut, never redraw. You just move ends.
Read the tangle
Ropes enter the screen already knotted together. Red markers glow at every crossing, so you always know exactly what stands between you and the finish.
Drag the ends
Grab a rope's endpoint and pull. Anchored ends stay pinned; free ends follow your finger while the rope threads realistically through the rest of the knot.
Reach zero crossings
The moment no two ropes cross, the level is solved — and in pattern levels the hidden shape snaps taut and reveals itself. Then undo is there if you overplay: 5 steps back.
Five mechanics
One rule, five ways to bend it
The 50 levels are built from five escalating mechanics, layered on top of each other. By the final chapter you're routing pinned ropes around forbidden zones while docking colored ends — and still aiming for that satisfying zero.
Separate every rope
The classic form. Move the free ends until no two ropes touch. Pure spatial reasoning.
Some ends won't move
Pinned endpoints lock part of the puzzle in place. Plan around what can't change.
Ropes can't enter
Blocked regions physically push ropes away — route around them, never through.
Dock ends on targets
Every free end must land on its matching color target — while staying untangled.
Every knot hides a picture
Stars, hearts, butterflies, moons… untangle it and the hidden shape snaps into place.
Everything at once
Late levels combine all five mechanics into 16-rope knots that would make a sailor blush.
Ways to play
A puzzle for every mood
Structured campaign, a shared daily ritual, or an endless meditative drift — Untangle fits the ten minutes you have, not the other way around.
One tangle. The whole world. Today only.
Every player gets the same 6-rope puzzle, generated deterministically from the date. Solve it, share your result, come back tomorrow. The Home Screen widget keeps today's knot one glance away.
- Same level on every device, worldwide
- Widget shows the daily knot before you even open the app
Zen mode
No map, no numbers — just you and increasingly deep knots. Every 3 wins adds another rope, ramping from 5 all the way to 16. The closest thing to meditation with your thumbs.
Level editor
Design your own tangles with the same tools the 50 built-in levels were made with. Place ropes, anchors, forbidden zones and targets — then watch a friend suffer.
The feel
It doesn't just look like rope.
It behaves like rope.
Each rope is a chain of physical particles with slack, tension and weight. Ropes glide past each other, bow under drag, and snap taut the instant the knot releases. Tactile haptics and sound underline every thread.
- Verlet rope physics — real slack & tension
- Live cross markers at every intersection
- Haptic feedback & subtle sound design
- 5-step undo and a move counter
- No timer, no fail states, no pressure
- Fully offline — play on airplane mode

FAQ
Questions, untangled
What kind of game is Untangle?
Untangle is a tactile rope puzzle. Each level shows several ropes twisted into a knot, simulated with real rope physics. You drag the ropes' endpoints until no two ropes cross each other — a modern take on the classic "planarity" puzzle genre, with a hidden pattern revealed at the end of every knot.
How do I solve a level?
Grab a rope endpoint and drag it. Free ends follow your finger; anchored ends stay pinned. Red markers highlight every crossing, so you always know how close you are. The moment the crossing count reaches zero, the level is solved.
How much does Untangle cost?
Untangle will be a paid app: $1.99 once, on the App Store. Everything is included — all 50 handcrafted levels, the Daily Challenge, Zen mode and the level editor. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription. It's launching soon — leave your email above and we'll tell you the moment it's out.
What is the Daily Challenge?
A single puzzle generated deterministically from today's date: every player around the world gets the exact same 6-rope tangle each day. A Home Screen widget shows the daily knot at a glance, so you never miss a day.
What are the different level mechanics?
Five: Pure Untangle (separate every rope), Anchored (pinned endpoints), Forbidden Zones (regions ropes cannot enter), Color Match (dock each free end on its matching color target), and Pattern Reveal (untangle the knot to reveal a hidden picture — a star, heart, butterfly and more).
Does it work offline? What devices does it support?
Untangle is fully offline — no account, no network required. It runs on iPhone and iPad, and the Daily Challenge widget works from your Home Screen.
